Is there an hotel 24 hour reception desk area?
No, we do not have an 24 hour reception desk
Is there a night porter?
No, we do not have a night porter, Our management’s main residence is within the grounds of the hotel and all of our external and internal public areas have 24hours CCTV surveillance and are alarmed.
What are your Opening and Closing times?
Tuesday - Sunday We are closed on Monday’s to the general public. The hotel is only available for ‘room only’ for accommodation guest’s. As our on-site facilities of Lounge Bar and our Bistro Restaurant are not available, we can arrange with prior notice for a welcome hamper or and an early morning breakfast to go. If arriving on a Monday please make sure to check your correspondence as you will be contacted prior to your arrival by WhatsApp or by email to arrange a self-check in which you will be issued a key code for access.
Is wireless internet available at your hotel?
Wireless internet is available free of charge throughout the hotel.
Is breakfast included in the price of my room?
Please refer to your booking confirmation which will outline what is included within your booking. If you find that breakfast is not included in your rate, you can always add it to your reservation for a surcharge by contacting the team at contact or at check in. You can also pre-order our breakfast or lunch to go hampers. Breakfast or brunch is available in our Bistro Restaurant which you can book direct Book a Table
Is room service available at your hotel?
We do not offer room service and try to discourage guests from eating in the rooms, by also offering the Drawing Room for accommodation guest use only.

What time am I able to check-in?
You can check-in after 16:00.
What time should I check-out by?
You can check-out any time before 11:00.
My flight arrives late in the evening; will it be possible to check-in late?
Absolutely. Check-in after 20:00 has to be coordinated with the hotel, simply contact for assistance.
My flight arrives early in the morning, will it be possible to check-in early?
Please be advised that our standard check-in time is from 16:00. We will do our best to accommodate early check in however to guarantee this, it is necessary to book the previous night, which is only possible if the room you booked is available from the night before. As an alternative option, should availability permit, you can book an alternative room then move the following day to the room you booked (check-out & check-in times must be adhered to). Alternatively, you are welcome to leave your luggage free of charge in our luggage storage prior to your check-in.
My flight arrives late in the evening; will it be possible to check-in late?
Should you wish to retain your room after 11:00, please arrange with reception at the hotel. All our rooms are subject to availability and an hourly fee will be applicable after 11:00.
Provided at no extra cost. Please advise in advance of arrival should you wish for a cot to be placed in the room.
All of our suites operate a 100% no-smoking policy throughout. Smoking in a bedroom or anywhere else inside the premises will result in a £250 fine.
We regret that, except for assistance dogs, no pets are allowed in any of our rooms or public areas of the hotel. Dogs are allowed in the outside sitting area (with the exception of the Bistro Restaurant Garden area). Dogs must be kept on a lead and cause no nuisance to other guests, or barking. Dogs are not allowed up on the picnic benches or tables.
Free parking is available with 24hrs CCVT
Guests luggage can be stored free of charge on the day they check-in. We are also able to offer storage on the day of check-out, however, please speak to the team to confirm availability for this.
If you’re planning on travelling by train your end destination would be Livingston South Station, which is 5 min walk from the Bankton House Hotel.
Edinburgh airport is the closest which is approximately 15 min drive away. We are not able to provide any airport transfers, however we are able to make recommendations for local taxi companies, rather than using Edinburgh airport cabs that incur surcharges. Yes our Bistro on line direct booking only allows you to book a maximum of 6 persons, therefore you can either book for the maximum number of people the system allows and in the note section request the additional number you wish to book for and we will get back to you or get in touch either by the contact form or call 01506 434176. Depending on your party size we can offer private dinning area please contact us
